Pinball tilt EQ files
This item provides a digital download of a ZIP file with all the documentation needed to build the Pinball.
The Pinball v3 has now been added to the Pinball documentation. This circuit combines the Standout mid booster and Pinball tilt EQ into one pedal!
PINBALL DESCRIPTION: You have probably used a tone knob that turns clockwise for more treble & less bass, and counterclockwise for more bass & less treble. This ubiquitous EQ is called a tilt equalizer, and it is able to make quick EQ adjustments with just one knob. Until now, this type of EQ hasn't been tunable - in other words, the frequency filters that make up the EQ have been fixed. Introducing the Pinball, the first fully tunable, precision analog tilt equalizer. Add sparkle to a dark amp, or warm up a bright amp. Get sizzle and bite from humbuckers, or fatten up a single coil. Try it on bass or synth!
STANDOUT DESCRIPTION: Is your amp too muddy, dark, bright, tinny, boomy, etc? Do your single coils get fizzy & shrill with drive pedals, and your humbuckers become flabby with your favorite fuzz? Does it feel impossible to get your guitar's tone to feel just right in a band mix? The Standout is a precision mid booster designed to solve all these common problems. Use it to dial in the exact amount of bass cut (HPF) and treble cut (LPF) to sculpt your tone and push an amp or another pedal into its unique sweet spot. This is a must-have tone tool for taming high gain amps, especially in the studio.
These files are for personal use only. If you want to build & sell the Pinball as a commercial product, you can become an authorized VFE builder.
I recommend that you create an account in order to easily re-download these design files later, especially when I update them.
Included Files
Here is a full list of included files:
README - Outlines the basic organization of the files within the ZIP file. It also contains links to multiple YouTube videos that will help you build the pedal and understand how it works, plus information about the various versions of the pedal.
SCHEMATICS - Contains schematics of every version of the circuit, categorized by series (SPS, Standard, Live).
EAGLE FILES - Contains all the Eagle files from the different versions of the pedal. Earlier versions may be a bit messy to work with, but are included to help with repair or mod work on discontinued versions of the pedal.
GERBER FILES - These ZIP files contain everything you need to get the latest version of the PCBs fabricated. The files have been optimized for the Gerber extensions used by PCBway, so they may not work at all fabrication shops unless you change the extensions on each file.
ASSEMBLY FILES - Contains the assembly sheets with a master parts spreadsheet for most recent version of the pedal. When available, I've added assembly sheets for earlier versions, too.
TEMPLATES - Contains templates for the drill holes. Free templates for the graphics can be found at https://www.vfepedals.com/graphics.
